Since the name The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was taken, director Jay Roach (Meet the Parents) titled this summer's hilarious comedy Dinner for Schmucks. It was inspired by a French film from the 90s called The Dinner Game.
Since I attending the screening for I Love You, Man, I've had mixed emotions about it. This has probably been one of the most difficult reviews for me to write and I don't know why. This was one of my top 5 "films I'm most excited to see in 2009". I've been anticipating it since I first heard of the premise.
When you think of role models, you don't think of Wheeler (Seann William Scott), a partying, live life to the fullest type of guy or Danny (Paul Rudd), a guy who feels as if he's wasted the last 10 years of his life and hates everything. But maybe that's what makes them good role models: they're not the typical, cookie-cutter mold role models.
