I am a Woody Allen fanatic. Therefore, I see every one of his films no matter what. That is, regardless of what the critical or box office reception is. There's rarely any media to cover an opening of a Woody Allen film. There's never a midnight showing for those impatient fans -- in fact, there's usually not much of a line up.

Review: 30 Minutes or Less

Premise may be important when putting a story on screen, but that doesn't mean it has to also be realistic -- not for comedies, at least. Characters might be similar from flick to flick, but it's the fresh -- and often ridiculous -- situations they are put in that make a funny film.

Halifax-based sketch comedy troupe Picnicface has a big second half of 2011 ahead. Besides their brand-new eponymous television show, which debuts this fall on The Comedy Network, they've also completed a feature film, Roller Town, which they hope will hit theatres this fall, as well.

Does Marvel save their best superhero movie 'til last this summer? Well not quite, but it still packs more of a punch than Ryan Reynolds and his emerald jewelry. The last of Marvel's crown jewel characters hits the big screen in this much-needed reboot of their lone super solider, Captain America: The First Avenger.

In another time, this kind of news would have the showbiz world at a standstill. But in today's showbiz society, it's just another day at the office. Over the last 10 years (14 counting the books), the magical world of Harry Potter has become more than just books and movies but, in the words of Seth Green, "a piece of our iconography".
