While I was living in New York City, I once asked a native Long Islander what the dating life in Manhattan was like. He told me it was horrible. To him it was virtually impossible to meet people.
I love this time of year (Oscar Season) because it allows me to talk about so many great films. Films that challenge and inspire. Films about courage and triumph. Films about loss and heartache. Films of passion.
Discussing great films to me is like having a great dance partner.
So the big news this week is of course the Oscar nominations, causing people like me to over-analyze everything. Who can blame us? The Academy Awards is our Superbowl. I will be making observations about the Oscar race for the next couple of weeks.
A few years ago, a co-worker told me that he was afraid of clowns. This phobia piqued my interest, and I asked him how clowns could possibly scare him. He told me that when he was young, he watched It, and ever since then, he was terrified of clowns.
PERFECTION
It's the beginning of a new year and a fresh start for everyone. Time to be perfect.

The child actor is a pretty sweet gig, let's face it. You get paid lots of money to play make believe. It certainly beats flipping burgers. But making the transition from young adolescent to adult is where the real challenge lies. It's difficult for young actors to be taken seriously in mature roles when the public is used to seeing them in children's fluff.

It's that time of year that all men love: aimlessly wandering around a parking lot looking for a space, standing in line for hours between an old lady and a screaming baby, being ripped off by a jewellery salesperson... and this usually all occurs on December 23!
Yes the holiday season is in full swing.
It was announced this week that James Franco and Anne Hathaway will be co-hosting the 83rd Academy Awards this year on February 27th, 2011.
I adore both of these actors and I wish them well with perhaps the most thankless job in Hollywood.
On November 19, 2010, along with five other reporters, I met with Mena Suvari and Caterina Murino at the Playwright's Celtic Pub in New York City to discuss the release of Hemingway's Garden of Eden. The following is a transcript of that meeting.
Earlier this year, Avatar was released on DVD and Blu-Ray. The release was as bareboned as it could be, as it only contained the movie. In a few days, Avatar is going to be released again, but as an extended collector's edition version.
