Iron & Wine highlight of Winnipeg Folk Festival so far (and other Day 3 notes)

The third night of the Winnipeg Folk Festival was a busy day, and for that reason, this is going to be a shorter update tonight. It was a long, mostly cool day out at Bird's Hill Park on Friday, and sleep awaits -- but here we go!
Friday at the fest was all about the singer-songwriter -- at least for this writer.
The Big Brother 11 season opener starts off with the usual introduction. With 52 cameras and 80 microphones in the house we know just how much they can catch! This year's Big Brother goes along the High School Cliques theme and Julie tells us that everyone will be divided into 4 groups: the Athletes, the Brains, the Populars, and the Off-Beats.

My pick for tonight: By now, you know how I love TLC's Say Yes to the Dress... But you could always watch the Russell Peters special on CTV at 10 p.m.

If you've been following our Twitter updates on the left side of our home page (or directly at twitter.com/showbizmonkeys), then you know what Day 2 of the Winnipeg Folk Festival was like -- the music was great, the atmosphere was awesome, and the weather was all over the place.
So, who is thrilled that Big Brother 11 is starting tonight? I don't know about you but it's the highlight of my summer. Yes, I have no life. That being said, let's take a look at what this season is going to bring us.
The theme is High School Cliques. Something Big Brother would come up with.

My pick for tonight: There are a few interesting things on tonight--two previously unaired Samantha Who? episodes, the SYTYCD results, and another documentary on CBC.
